Nature vs. Nurture

I dare you to dig into the depths of my mind,
stare into my soul
and
show the world what you find.

Around my heart,
you'll find my art;
a place to build beginnings
or to hit re-start.

One day,
 you four will see that
You're just like me,
pretty baby.
Your a child
but
you'll never be granted a childhood.
And I am so sorry that is true.

As you twirl in your day dress
I just look at you
and
your eyes explode into my head.

Oh your eyes,
they reflect the utter innocence of your mind.
How I am completely mesmerized
when you look into mine.
They are so wide,
full of untouched time.

I want to wash this world clean
before it's seen.
Before it's seen
by those curious, colorful eyes.
I want to wash this world clean
so it can never try to make you cry.

I want to steal you away
and show you beautiful teachings.
Beautiful days
that make the sun stay vivid
even when it retreats away.

I want to give you
CONSTANCY,
CONSISTENCY
before this world pushes you into vulnerability.
I'll never abandon you because
I know what you need.

I want to show you when
to hold on
and when
to hold back.
And that no problem is ever solved with the solution of attack.
I hope when you're ready to hear these things
my heart, my head, and my soul are running on the right track.

I need to fill your heart with purity
and convince you that is the way to be.
Honesty is the only way to see
even if others don't agree
and try to hurt you aimlessly.
Other people only have power over you if you let them;
this I guarantee.
