Have you ever heard the innocent sound of laughter

long before the child realizes what this world is after?

If I had a child
I would teach them
the temperature of laughter
and that this life
is not something you can master
but you can try to get better and better.

If I had a child
I would teach them how sunshine
can infiltrate your mind
& make you feel divine.

If i had a daughter,
I'd teach her she's capable of creating
her own happily-ever-afters.
Like if I had a son,
I'd teach him he deserves nothing less than
the one who shows him just how much he matters.

I'd teach them that discovery
comes with their need to breathe.
Any thought can be a vision
any dream, an aspiration;
just keep on,
keep on
wishin'.
